Lead paint removal


 The new State and Federal restrictions on Lead paint removal are simple and understandable. Only a few instances occur when the potential for lead paint contamination occurs. The usual precautions for dust, chemical and clean up procedures are sufficient to control lead exposure during paint removal. The existing OSHA rules that have been in place since the eighties are common sense and easy to apply, our company has been taking these precautions for years and we would encourage customers not to worry too much about the lead issue as an impossible cost for removal.

 
Painting Products

 
Contrary to popular ideas paint is not all the same. A good paint is a pleasure to work with, to brush straight lines and flow out evenly with good coverage, a cheap paint has cheap additives, less binders and often to little hide ability or pigment depth. If you use twice as much paint as an expensive one you pay the same and work double. 

  Our company painters have been using Benjamin Moore products since the early 90's. and for specific projects we use Modern Masters, Ralph Laren and Sherwyn & Williams.

  For many years we offered Ben Moore Impervo for our woodwork contracts but recently we have started using Ben Moore's Advance enamel with great success and confidence.
This is a clean smelling enamel with very little VOC content at all. It has a quick hardening and good float out with the low luster sheen most suited for interiors. If walls and ceilings are included in the project we offer Ben Moore's zero VOC lines of paint. 


Interior paint products 

    
Interior paint products are designed for interior applications, exterior paints although stronger do not give a fine finish , leaving to many brush marks and pin holes. 

  Painting a straight line requires practice and a good brush but the texture of the wall can ruin the best effort. If the paint design requires a strong color line every effort is made to prepare the surface for a sharp color contrast. Painting an interior requires more carefully application than exterior work. However exterior work is far more arduous in South Florida's summer climate.
